Q. How do I know if my picture will make a good Photo Sculpture?
A. The subject to be cut out of your photo should not have any of the main components cut off, such as arms, legs, your pets ears, paws or tail. Waist high shots make good photo sculptures, as long as the total upper body is in the picture. The main subject should not be blocked by other objects such as tree limbs etc. The best subjects stand out from the background with enough contrast between the subject and background to be able to follow and cut out the subject. When taking your photo try to get as close to the subject as possible while staying in focus. We will size your photo to be as large as possible for the size sculpture you order maintaining the original aspect ratio - width to height. If your picture looks good and is not out of focus or otherwise of poor quality, it will make a good Photo Sculpture.

If you send your digital photo by email, send the original file from the camera not the photo sized for email. This will provide the maximum number of pixels for a clear photo Sculpture. If you send a photo that would not look good as a sculpture, we will contact you before continuing.

Q. How are the sculptures made?

A. We start by editing your digital picture or scanned photograph to fit the photo sculpture size of your choice, either 4X6, 5X7 or 8X10. Your original photo is scanned and sent back to you. This process provides the largest possible sculpture for the size ordered maintaining the proper height to width aspect ratio of the subject in the photo without distortion.

Your edited photo is then printed on high quality photo paper. The next step is to laminate the photo using high quality acrylic to protect the photograph from moisture and scratches. The photo is then attached to a Plexiglas backing.

Your photo is sculpted removing the background and attached to the Plexiglas base. The base is made of 1/4 inch Plexiglas and the back of the sculpture is 1/8" or 3/16" Plexiglas.

Q. How long until my order arrives?

A. Most orders are shipped within 7 business days if you submitted a digital file. If you mailed your photo to us, please allow 14 extra days for transit. In addition to the transit time, please allow one to two business days for processing. Rush service is available at extra cost.

Q. How do I send my photo to you?
A. If you are sending your photo print to create your Photo Sculpture, please place the photograph in an appropriate envelope using a flat cardboard sheet to protect it from bending and mark the envelope "Photo - Do Not Bend". Be sure to include your complete contact information including telephone number. You will be provided the address to mail your photograph at the end or the checkout process. Tip: Be sure to email the full sized photo file just as it comes from your camera for best results. Do not use your imaging software's email photo feature as this will reduce the size of the file for email. Contact us if you have questions on how to do this.
